As if the social media backlash was not enough for Randeep Hooda, the director of his film, Jism 2, Pooja Bhatt, too, has come out in support of Gurmehar Kaur. She quote retweeted Randeep Hooda’s tweet and said, “He who laughs last, laughs alone. Pick on someone your own size boys! This is so NOT cool!” Well not just her, Randeep’s co-star of Main Aur Charles, Richa Chaddha too retweeted Pooja’s tweet.
Apart from Pooja Bhatt and Richa Chaddha, The Ghazi Attack actor, Atul Kulkarni, too, didn’t take Randeep’s mocking the martyr’s daughter lightly and replied, “‘Enemy doesn’t kill, the concept of war kills’ is a deep sentence.understand gravity of monster-WAR.Don’t MOCK”. Javed Akhtar, though, without taking any names, sent out a tweet that stated, “If a hardly literate player or a wrestler troll a pacifist daughter of a martyr its understandable but whats wrong with some educated folks”
For the uninitiated, it all started when Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of Kargil war martyr, posted a picture of herself holding a placard saying that Pakistan didn’t kill her father, the war did. Known for his quirky sense of humour, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag took a dig on this statement of hers and tweeted a pic of his own with a caption that mentions that he never hit triple centuries, but his bat did.
Randeep Hooda, who is a good friend of Virender Sehwag, applauded this tweet of his and that’s when everyone lost their mind. Since then he has been receiving a lot of flak, so much so that later he had to put up a long Facebook post to justify his actions.
