Movie clashes at the box office can change the dynamics in Bollywood. Just recently, Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil and both films suffered a little. Last year, Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil clahsed at the BO, and Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar clashed with Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan four years ago.
We both have moved on, I guess. I had a chat with Ashish (Patil) from YRF and realised that Adi (Aditya Chopra) was fighting for his product and I was fighting for mine.” He admitted that he was even open to act in a YRF film if it was a great role and film.
There was so much animosity that Devgn even filed a case against the production company. But finally they patched up a couple of years ago. The actor in an interview to After Hrs last year, said, “I was fighting a case — not against them, but against the system — and that case is also now over. Nothing came of it.
Now Devgn will step foot on Adi’s property again as he begins the shoot for Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again from March 9. Sets are being put up currently.
So that is one reconcilation that has happened. But can we expect another one between Ajay and Karan Johar? Well, chances of that happening look bleak. The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director has made it very clear in his memoir, An Unsuitable Boy, that he has nothing to do with neither his ex-BFF Kajol, nor her hubby Ajay.
The clash between their films Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has taken a toll on Bollywood. Imagine not seeing Kajol ever again in a Dharma Productions’ movie!
