Akshay Kumar, who already had two releases this year by now, will be seen next in Toilet – Ek Prem Katha. As the title indicates, it’s an unusual love story that revolves around a toilet, and has Dum Laga Ke Haisha fame Bhumi Pednekar playing the female lead. Toilet – Ek Prem Katha has its premise on the lines of government’s Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan. So that’s why the movie is being promoted by the government.
Recently Akshay Kumar posted a picture that showed him helping in digging his first toilet in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh in the presence of Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. This is quite a cool initiative from Akshay Kumar, who has been quite socially conscious in recent times. While building a toilet in the village also helps the social cause of ‘jahaan soch, vahaan souchalay’, the move also promotes his upcoming movie in the right way. Let’s hope Akshay’s efforts don’t go dow the drain when Toilet- Ek Prem Katha releases in August 11, clashing with Shah Rukh Khan’s Imtiaz Ali movie.

Akshay Kumar had a mixed year so far in 2017. While Jolly LLB 2 was a hit at the box office, it could not get the same critical appreciation as the first Jolly LLB movie. His next, Naam Shabana, had released earlier this week to very mixed reviews and a weak start at the box office. The Baby spinoff had Akshay Kumar in an extended cameo, while Taapsee Pannu was the main lead. Akshay Kumar will now be seen next in Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, after which he will make his Tamil debut in Rajinikanth’s mega budgeted 2.0, where he will be playing the villain. There is also wifey Twinkle Khanna’s first home production, Padman.
