After Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, the only films that Alia Bhatt has signed are Dragon with Ranbir Kapoor and Gully Boy with Ranveer Singh. The actress is choosy about her films and likes quirky roles. But a Bollywood trade person tells us, “Alia has liked Lunchbox director Ritesh Batra’s script and is on board principally.
It was her mentor Karan Johar, who had co-produced Lunchbox, who got Ritesh to give the actress a narration as he loved the script. Ritesh was initially a little hesitant as he thought Alia was too big an actress to even approach. But Alia loved the story too. Right now the dates and financials are being worked out.”
Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in Badrinath Ki Dulhania, a sequel to Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, with Varun Dhawan. As the movie title goes, it’s about Badri Bansal and his Dulhania. Varun-Alia have always shared great chemistry and yet again, we saw glimpse of it in the recent trailer.
Another form this upcoming movie -Tamma Tamma Again was recently out and what a rage it has become, already. Varun Dhawan, Alia, Bosco and Shashank have paid a fitting tribute to this hit 90s number that starred Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit back then.
As for her film with Ranveer Singh, The Dil Dhadakne Do actor recently posted a video announcing his project with her. Can’t wait for this power packed duo to begin shooting. And we are looking forward to her first superhero film with Ranbir Kapoor.
While we are excited about her upcoming projects, we are very curious about Alia-Ritesh Batra’s collaboration. After all Lunchbox was one of a kind. can’t wait what the director spins off this time, with Alia Bhatt. She has surprised enough last year, looks like we are in for a lot more this year too!
