The veteran actor and a brilliant writer Tom Alter, who was well known for his roles of acting as a Britisher in various Bollywood movies and the TV series have passed away after his battle with cancer. The Padma Shri holder was of American descent but a native of Mussoorie. He was well versed in Hindi and Urdu and was known as the blue-eyed sahib.

The Padma Shri holder – Tom Alter was a citizen of American descent but by choice resided in Mussoorie, India for the better part of his life. He was well known to be fluent in Hindi and for his command over Urdu, He was often referred as the blue-eyed sahib.

 His acts are still a fresh memory across all age groups especially his most celebrated acts in the movie ‘Bheja Fry‘ and his role in TV serial ‘Shaktimaan‘. He has always been the first choice for any role of a Britisher in numerous movies like ‘Kranti‘, ‘Sardar‘ and ‘Shatranj Ke Khilari‘.
