Farhan Akhtar will be next seen in The Fakir of Venice. It has been time since we saw him in a role that would actually be entertaining. And after looking at the first poster of The Fakir of Venice, we think this might be it. This movie can help Farhan reclaim his fandom. Along with Farhan, Annu Kapoor also appears on the poster. He wearing the garb that is usually associated to Godmen in Hindu culture. You’d think this is a devotional movie, but that is not the case. Farhan’s quirky expressions are the proof.
Earlier reports suggested that Farhan would be playing Homi Adajania in The Fakir of Venice. Yep! The popular filmmaker – Homi Adajania. Though after seeing the first poster that doesn’t seem to be the case at all. But don’t be surprised by that. In the early years of his career, Homi as given an assignment to Indian holy saint who could stay under sand with only his hands visible outside. And probably this is the con the poster is talking about with its tagline “Watch the con unfold from Mumbai to Venice” Sounds cool, right?
Directed by Anand Surapur and produced by Punit Desai (October Films), the film also stars Annu Kapoor, Kamal Sidhu, Italian actress Valentina Carnelutti and German actor Mathieu Carriere. The Fakir of Venice will be shot in Mumbai, Banaras, Ladakh and Venice.
Farhan Akhtar was last seen in Rock On 2, which despite having the backing of the popularity of the first film, failed at the box office. The Fakir of Venice looks like the thing that will get people talking.
