Now it’s easy for you to question why Rakesh Roshan only casts Hrithik Roshan in his films with their next being – Kaabil that’s releasing on January 25. But one cannot forget the fact how every time the father son-duo has collaborated for a film, they have always managed to deliver a blockbuster – best example being their super-hit Krrish franchise. Probably, destiny had opened the doors for the Roshans at the very beginning of Hrithik’s career back in 2000.
Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was not only Hrithik’s first film but also his first blockbuster with his father considering the film had collected Rs 44.79 crore at the box office, which was a pretty huge record back then.
Of course, the biggest turning point in Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan’s career only came after Koi Mil Gaya(2003), which marked a beginning of a successful franchise with Krrish and Krrish 3 leading its way. While there have been many franchises in Bollywood. Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish franchise is one of the few which consistently managed to strike gold at the box office. In fact, Krrish 3 further turned out to become an all time blockbuster with a lifetime collection of Rs 250 crore. Now can you beat that?
Here check out Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan’s success ratio:
Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000) – Rs 44.79 crore – Blockbuster
Koi Mil Gaya (2003) – Rs 48.1 crore – Super Hit
Krrish (2006) 72.5 crore – Blockbuster
Krrish 3 (2013) – Rs 250 crore – All Time Blockbuster
Precisely, the reason why we believe Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan are surely going to repeat history with Kaabil. Directed by Sanjay Gupta, Kaabil also stars Yami Gautam and if the promos are anything to go by, then the film indeed looks very promising with a revengeful drama attached to it.
Not to mention, Hrithik and Yami will be seen playing blind for the first time onscreen. With so much to look forward to, you think Kaabil will get defeated at the box office? We doubt!
