Salman Khan’s rumoured girlfriend, Iulia Vantur, might croon a number for his next movie, Tubelight, which is supposed to release on Eid this year. The film has been making headlines ever since it was announced and not only because it’s a Salman Khan-starrer but also because it pairs him with Chinese actress, Zhu Zhu, who makes her debut with this film.
Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in the film is also understandably a big draw. While reports suggested that SRK might play a magician in the film, the film’s director Kabir Khan chose to keep mum about the details. He said, “It’s a magician or something else… Let it all stay at rumour levels only. I can’t say anything about it (role).”
However, the latest piece of news coming in from the sets of Tubelight scores over reports of SRK’s cameo too. A source was quoted in a Mid-Day report as saying that Iulia will be singing a song for Tubelight. In the report, the source reveals, “Iulia’s tone and pitch will enhance the heart-wrenching number. She is yet to record the final track. They (composers) are still fixing the final tune.”
This isn’t the first time that Iulia will be singing for a Bollywood movie. Incidentally, she had made her singing debut with Salman Khan’s last release, Sultan, in which she sang the reprised version of Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai. With two songs in back-to-back films, it seems like Bhai is taking a keen interest in shaping Iulia’s Bollywood career.
Talking about Salman’s performance in the movie, filmmaker Kabir Khan recently said that his performance in Tubelight is five times better than the one in their 2015 blockbuster, Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Speaking to the media at the screening of the Oscar-nominated film, Lion, Kabir said, “Salman will be seen in a completely different way in the film (Tubelight).
If people have thought that Salman’s performance is special in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, then his performance in Tubelight is five times better than it. The audience will see Salman’s better performance in Tubelight.”
