Finally, after waiting for what looked like ages, we have our first look of Thor from Thor 3, titled Thor: Ragnarok. And it is surprising to say the least, as for the first time since Thor in 2011, The God Of Thunder is seen without his long, golden locks. In fact one thing that instantly catches your attention is the missing hammer, Mjolnir. And instead there are two majestic swords. The reason for that may be, as suggested by Comicbook.com is, either Thor could have been taken captive and forced to lose the hammer. It’s clear that no one else can possess Mjolnir, but enough power can certainly remove Thor from it. If he’s taken prisoner (which may explain his short hair), this would make a lot of sense. That theory also ties into the idea that the plot of the film will be similar to Planet Hulk.
Or, Thor may have become unworthy. In the comics, Thor becomes unable to carry Mjolnir, after the hammer discovers one of his oldest secrets. Upon deciding Thor isn’t the worthy god he was always thought to be, Mjolnir abandons him.

And if one takes a look at the article that was published in the magazine it clears all the confusion. The article gave a detail about the planet, confirming Thor’s involvement in the gladiator fights: “Her [Hela] attack on Thor sends him to Sakaar where he is forced to become a gladiator and realizes he’s no longer super special.”
Infact, Chris Hemsworth too gave his own depiction of the famous planet Hulk. He explained, “[Sakaar is] basically where every wormhole across the universe dumps out its trash, so you get people from all walks of life with all sorts of incredible abilities and powers.”
He further added, “No one cares what prince or king Thor may have been in another world. Also, his strength is pretty easily matched with those he finds himself amongst.”
