Veteran actress Rekha along with Maharashtra Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao will honor Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan with the Yash Chopra Memorial Award here later this month.
The fourth edition of the event, which commemorates the late filmmaker Yash Chopra by honoring excellence in various spheres of cinema like acting and music, will be held on February 25, the organizers said in a statement. Shah Rukh has been part of the Hindi film industry for over two decades and has worked in films like Darr, Dil To Pagal Hai, Veer-Zaara and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, helmed by Chopra.
The award jury comprised of Pamela Chopra — widow of Yash Chopra — and Bollywood luminaries like Hema Malini, Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Simi Garewal and Padmini Kolhapure.
On the work front Shah Rukh Khan after delivering the first hit of 2017 in Raees, will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s film which is up for an August 11, 2017 release and is reportedly titled, Rahnuma. He’ll also start prepping for Anand L Rai’s film where he’ll be playing a dwarf and that film is slotted for a December 2018 release. In between he’ll also be seen in a cameo in Salman Khan’s Tubelight.
There were also reports of Shah Rukh Khan being a part of Baahubali 2 but makers refuted the rumour. Baahubali 2 will NOT have Shah Rukh Khan in it and the news was confirmed on social media by film’s official page. “We would have loved to have @iamsrk in our movie! Who wouldn’t? But unfortunately, it’s a rumour! Not true ! #Baahubali2,” reads the tweet on Baahubali’s official Twitter handle.
Shah Rukh Khan has also recently been booked for the allegedly rioting and destroying railway property while he was on board August Kranti train last month, in order to promote Raees.
