Siddharth Roy Kapur, the head honcho of Walt Disney in India, has decided to step down from his current position. It is being reported that he has taken this step to start his own business and pursue his ambitions, taking them to a next level.
The same was confirmed by the chairman of Walt Dsiney International, Andy Bird. Andy Bird said that this was going on Siddharth’s mind for over ayear; hence, a proper succession planning has been put in place. Mahesh Sampat, the former head of Walt Disney India would be taking Siddhartha’s place from November end.
He became the CEO of UTV in 2008 and when it was acquired by Walt Disney, he took over the role of the Managing Director of the combined entity.
Under his leadership a lot of new, insightful and interesting work was done which includes but is not limited to KBC, RDB, The Jungle Book amongst many others.
