Sushant Singh Rajput took to Twitter to announce his upcoming film Romeo Akbar Walter or RAW. I must admit, the two posters of the film are intriguing AF. Both the posters has Sushant’s character on it. And reveals that the film is based around the backdrop of 1971 war, with the caption, “Our Hero? Their Spy?” and the poster claims to be inspired by true events.

While the posters of the film are intriguing, it is the caption that reminds me of Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film based on similar theme, Captain Nawab. The reason is simple, even in that poster Emraan’s character was seen in half Pakistani army’s and half Indian army’s uniform, with caption, “Two Countries One Soldier”.

Both the films are still in pre-production and there is a possibility that both have completely different storylines but these similarities can’t be ignored. Also read: IT’S OVER between Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon- Read details here

However, coming back to Romeo Akbar Walter, it will be helmed by writer-director Robbie Grewal, who in the past has directed underrated Samay: When Time Strikes, MP3: Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar and Aloo Chaat. The film is produced by Dheeraj Wadhawan, Ajay Kapoor, and Bunty Walia.

Industry veteran Ajay Kapoor, who has co-produced a number of hit films in the past has partnered with Dheeraj Wadhawan for his venture – KYTA Productions. Although this is their debut release under the KYTA banner, they already have a slew of films lined up to feature in the coming year. Romeo Akbar Walter is slated to release in 2018.

After the success of last year’s MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Sushant Singh Rajput is on a roll. He’ll be next seen in Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta, with Kriti Sanon, Karan Johar’s Drive, with Jacqueline Fernandez and India’s first space adventure Chanda Mama Door Ke, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and R Madhavan.
