Sushant Singh Rajput is one of the those rare actors who made a successful transition from TV to films. After a great debut performance in Kai Po Che and a blockbuster knock with MS Dhoni -The Untold Story, the actor has Raabta and Chandamama Door Ke to look forward and it is the latter that should make you incredibly excited.
Why? Well, it’s inspired from the Apollo 11 mission, the spaceflight that took humans to Moon for the first time and immortalised Neil Armstrong.
Sushant spoke about the same on his Twitter handle, giving us a hint as to what it will be like. He wrote, “I’d always wondered how Armstrong, Buzz & Michael were feeling during those 9 days to the Moon. Well, now i know:) #flightjournal #Apollo1 1.” Now, Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, director of the film had cleared before, “Our story isn’t based on anyone in particular but is inspired by multiple incidents that occurred in the past. It traces the journey of India’s space programme and culminates with the country’s first astronaut landing on the moon in 2017-18.” So you can’t really expect a film on the mission.
There is a reason why Sushant won’t play any of the astronauts from this mission on reel. Chandamama Door Ke is a futuristic film. It is about a fictional space program which results in India’s first astronaut landing on the moon during 2018. Nawazuddin Siddqui too is part of the film and is playing an astronaut.
“It’s a futuristic story never attempted in Bollywood. I enjoy experimenting with new things and do not want to attach myself to any particular genre,” the Raees actor had told a tabloid while talking about the film.
