It was on December 20, Taimur Ali Khan was born to Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The name Taimur received a lot of backlash, as it bore resemblance to a Turko-Mongul conqueror who reportedly killed millions of Indians and waged a war against the Hindu religion ( according to History). Social media went berserk, as everyone shared their opinion for and against the name. Like someone said, Taimur had already become a star. But amidst all these controversies, the father ( Saif Ali Khan) chose to remain silent. Now for the first time, while speaking with Mumbai Mirror, Saif has opened about his son Taimur, his upcoming films, Kareena and his two older children. Talking about Taimur, Saif confesses that he is just happy holding his son, who reminds him of Kareena. Does Kareena think the same the same? “Right now he scowls a lot, passes wind and yells so she thinks he’s a lot like me… A cranky, farty yeller!“ he states. That’s a classic Saif reply !
When asked about Kareena and the example she has set up for all future moms to be, Saif states that she could do it because she was free religiously, mentally and financially. “We are artistes and rules don’t apply to us. I’m happy she set an example but whether others can follow it or not is a different story. Kareena could do it because at home nobody tells her what to do, rather everyone supports her decisions. She makes her own money and is free to do what she wants with it. Being financially independent is the crux of her freedom. As they say, he who gives money makes the rules,“ Saif asserts.
Saif will soon be seen in Rangoon, a Vishal Bharadwaj film that also stars Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut. The movie is a love triangle set in the WWII era. He is also busy shooting for Raja Krishna Menon’s Chef, an Indian adaptation of the Jon Favreau’s Chef. It’s about a top chef who quits his job and then re-discovers his love for the culinary world through a food truck. Along side this, he manages to mend ways with his wife and son.
