The Fate of The Furious, or Fast 8 or F8 or I don’t know, which new name they have coined up for the upcoming eight installment of a franchise that has surprisingly found a lot of fans as the franchise grew. With the absurdity of the action sequences increasing by every movie that is coming up (along with the burgeoning cast members), Mithun Chakraborthy might be feeling that he would have had a better prospect in career if he had started off in Hollywood, rather than doing similar stunts in movies like Sultan and Cheetah.

You know how the franchise began more than a decade back with Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker in the opposite sides of law in a movie, that was a total rehash of Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze’s Point Break (that Bollywod also tried to remake with the first Dhoom). From there on, the franchise had seen its ups and lows, with the second, third and fourth being the nadir, while the inclusion of Dwayne Johnson in the fifth installment brought life back into the franchise.

Now we are ready for the eight installment and going by the latest trailer, it looks to take the action to new high absurd levels. You have cars raining from the sky, you have The Rock pushing a live missile towards the villains’ vehicle while on ice, and so on… It also gives us a hint that Dom (Vin Diesel) has been blackmailed to join the main villain (Charlize Theron)’s side, that might have something to do with his former associate and brother in law.

Apart from Diesel, The Rock and Theron, the movie also stars Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Scott Eastwood, and Helen Mirren. The Fate of The Furious is scheduled to release on April 14, 2017
