Govinda has been on a ranting spree lately. While promoting his film Aa Gaya Hero, he has been making many shocking statements about people he has worked before. He lashed out at Karan Johar, David Dhawan and even Varun.
In case of the latter, Govinda had said, “How can he (Varun) be like me? To become Govinda, he needs to be innocent, uneducated and a poor village boy. Varun is already a son of a director. In the last six years, he hasn’t done more than two films with his father, whereas I did 17 films with his father (David Dhawan).” At an event the Badrinath ki Dulhania actor ignored the question completely but couldn’t do it for the second time.
Recently at a group interview, Varun was asked to react on Govinda’s statement and his reply will make you clap aloud. Varun Dhawan said, “Alochna honi chahiye…Alochan se mein bahut kuch seekhta hoon. Woh kehte hai mujhme aur unmei koi samantaye nahi hai. Yeh sahi hai. Kisi mein samantayein ho bhi nahi sakti. Woh varisht hai, mein unka samman karta hoon. Mein unki barabari kabhi nahi kar sakta.”
(There should be criticism. I learn a lot from criticism. He says there is no similarity between him and me which is right. There cannot be similarities. He is a senior actor and I respect him. I will never be able to match up to him.) It is so heartening to see Varun respect his seniors so ardently. He knows who Govinda is and what the actor’s combo with his father did for both of them.
He respects that a lot. He had even said in one of his earlier interviews, “Govinda sir has spoilt my dad. As an actor, he has set such high standards that it is extremely difficult to reach up to that level. After having worked with him in numerous blockbusters, my dad kept expecting the same perfection and madness that Govinda ji used to bring to his performances and dance moves. He is a living legend of our industry and nobody can be like him,”
We hope Govinda, you will just bless Varun now because this young actor is totally smitten by your charm!
