Varun Dhawan‘s last film Badrinath Ki Dulhania saw a superb run at the box office. The love story with desi tadka found takers at the box office with many people watching it more than once. Thanks to all that, the film has managed to make Rs. 112.13 crore at the box office which means it is only a few crores behind Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2. Yes, the latter had till now earned Rs 116.92 crore. We have a feeling if Badri continues to make money, eventually, it will be able to cross Jolly’s figures. Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 released on February 10. It slowly and gradually managed to make so much money that it became his fourth Rs 100 crore film in a row after Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom. A sequel to a hit film, Jolly LLB 2 managed to make a mark with the audience more because of Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla’s banter than anything else. No wonder Akshay has a lot to do with its success, but the scenes he had with these two stalwarts were simply brilliant. What also worked for Jolly was that there weren’t any big film to contest it at the box office.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania got a similar opportunity at the box office after making good money in its first week. With small films hitting the marquee, Badri had a clean route which it cashed on brilliantly. Holi also added riches to its tally. But what is more interesting is the way people are still watching the film. If you take a look at its day wise collection in the third week, you will realise it has been consistent. Earning Rs 1-2 crore every day after 21 days of its stay at the box office says it all.
